Stress, out. Freedom, in.

My clients come to me because they are stressed and anxious. They often say there is too much to do in a day and too many distractions.

Yes. For many of us, there is too much to do in a day. And there are definitely too many distractions.

How can we find relief?

As a first step, start with this: Take a deep breath in for 4 counts, hold for 7 counts, release for 8. This helps slow the heart rate and calm the body.

But likely you need consistent relief, not just a deep breathing exercise.

I recommend you keep up the deep breathing, and then consider:

What if there was a way to work that allowed you to feel satisfied? What if there was a system that helped you pace yourself efficiently and reduce distractions? What if you had more time for the things you love to do?

These things all exist. It starts with getting clear on your goals and values. What matters most to you? Who matters most to you? What projects are most important to you? What do you want to accomplish in the next year? And how do you want to feel before, during, and after your workday?

I invite you to reflect on all the things and projects you wish you had more time for. Reflect on how you want to feel. Better yet, write them down or say them out loud.

If this feels satisfying, consider what it would feel like to do these things or feel this way regularly.

It’s true that our lives are very busy. But when we start to get clear on what we want, we can start mapping the path to get there. You start moving in that direction as soon as you start imagining it.

It’s my job to listen intently to what my clients’ needs are and help create a plan to get there.

If you want to make changes, I invite you to reach out. I offer free initial sessions to help you get clear and start moving closer to the direction you want to go.
